High Blood Pressure because of Stress at Work

High blood pressure, also known as hypertension is the most common cardiovascular diseases. Blood pressure refers to the force of blood pushing against artery walls as it courses through the body. Each time the heart beats, it pumps out blood into the arteries. Blood pressure is highest when the heart beats, pumping blood. This is called systolic pressure. When the heart is at rest, between beats, blood pressure drops. This is the diastolic pressure.

Most people with high blood pressure have no signs or symptoms. Although a few people with early stages of high blood pressure may have dull headaches, dizziness, or makes a few more nosebleeds than normal, these signs and symptoms usually do not appear to high blood pressure has reached an advanced – even life-threatening – stage.

Normal blood pressure is 120/80, where 120 is the systolic (maximum) blood pressure, and 80 is the diastolic (minimum) blood pressure. When the systolic blood pressure above 140 mm Hg or when the diastolic blood pressure is above 90mm Hg, blood pressure is considered high. Hypertension can be caused by many reasons, such as heredity, their genes, a high percentage of salt in your diet, and not as active, obesity, excessive alcohol intake and / or low potassium in your diet.

High blood pressure diet

High blood pressure is commonly known as hypertension. It is a state that can lead to serious problems if left untreated. The only effective remedy is to have some company changes in your diet plan and lose some weight.

Here are the details of a comprehensive plan of nutrition, ideal for high blood pressure:

1. A healthy blood pressure diet consists of high fiber cereal. It must be consumed with sugar free soy milk or skim milk.
2. White bread has to be replaced with ground wheat bread. Fiber rich bread is prescribed. Butter should be avoided because the bread is enriched with fat.
3. Potatoes are another potassium enriched foods. Eat a baked potato with skin. Avoid adding cream and butter to potatoes.
4. Instead of eating heavy meals two to three times a day, have four to five small meals a day. This will be useful in maintaining the calories.
5. Reduce sodium in your diet if you suffer from high blood pressure. This can be done by reducing salt levels in food.
6. Drinking too much alcohol increases your susceptibility to develop high blood pressure.
7. Being a vegetarian can also help lower blood pressure. In this type of food one consumes only fruit and vegetables, avoiding any kind of meat and meat products.
8. Consumption increased amount of fiber is likely to reduce blood pressure. Suggested amount of fiber is a nutrient 20gm – 35 gm of fiber a day.
